Patty Nolan -- Bio

Patty is a writer, collaborator and strategic thinker.

Her favorite assignments are those in which she gets to work with smart people to discover insights that help connect people and brands in fun, new ways.

She has worked at some of the best places in town.

At Clear!Blue, she was part of the team that dropped a Jeep from a helicopter, revealed an SUV in a faux blizzard in Cobo Hall, introduced the world to the Chevy Volt concept car in Detroit, created the first keynote address by an automotive manufacturer at CES, and developed branding work for Detroit Renaissance, RECARO, and others.

She has worked for Carlson Marketing, VSI, DMB&B (now Leo Burnett, Detroit), and Intergroup Marketing & Promotions.  In her broad range of assignments, she has:

  • Written scripts for executive speeches, celebrity dialog, press events, dealer meetings, announcement shows and children’s theatre
  • Developed marketing/PR concepts that captured consumers’ imaginations and earned media coverage for the client brands outside of the traditional industry publications
  • Been the lead creative person on new product launch teams, including the highly successful Chevrolet Silverado launch
  • Written copy for national advertising (TV, radio, print, outdoor, direct response) for such clients as Cadillac, GM Goodwrench, FTD, Dow Chemical and The American Plastics Council
  • Has helped develop concepts and copy for websites for Pontiac, Chevrolet, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler
  • Designed and written training materials for video, satellite, live training, ride-and-drives, CD-ROM and web-based self-training modules

Patty prides herself on “playing well with others” and always working to bring great ideas to life – and making them even stronger in the execution – regardless of where the idea originated.  She believes that great ideas are those inspired by a strategic insight ; these insights help build brands by delivering  value to the intended audience.

Her passions include the performing arts, a broad category she defines as including music, theatre, opera and NASCAR.  She is an enthusiast of most things Irish (literature, music, Guinness) and honors March 17th as a personal holiday.

Her personal motto:  “There’s a lot to be said for brevity.”
